KENMORE, NY – The Kenmore Village Improvement Society (KVIS) in collaboration with Hofert Jewelers, will kick off their Teal Village ovarian cancer fundraiser Saturday, May 5th by decorating the Village business streets in teal – the designated color symbolizing ovarian cancer. The purpose of The Teal Village is to provide a visual reminder of this important issue while raising funds for ovarian cancer research.
The public is invited to make a donation toward ovarian cancer research at Hofert Jewelers and while there, they can enter a free drawing to win a beautiful piece of jewelry. “While The Teal Village initiative honors the memory of long-time Hofert employee, Ann Vacanti, it also gives us a way to help raise funds and awareness of what is often called a silent cancer” says KVIS President, Melissa Foster.
The Teal Village campaign will run through May 19th with donation boxes at select Village businesses. For more information contact KVIS at 877-0477 or mail@villageofkenmore.com
