The mission of the Kenmore Village Improvement Society is to improve the quality of Village life through consistent communication, engaging education, and thoughtful action.

The Kenmore Village Improvement Society (KVIS) is an organization of residents and friends of the Village of Kenmore whose goal and purpose is to improve the quality of life here.
Society members have the opportunity to be directly involved in making the Village the very best it can be by using our individual talents, interests, and abilities in ways that fit our time time limitations and obligations. Physical and sociological Village improvement goals (see events and initiatives) are accomplished through an on-going liaison relationship between Society members and businesses, property owners, government, and other organizations. Through speaking and working together, we are helping to create a Village that is healthy, prosperous, safe and enjoyable for all; a gift to ourselves and future generations! Please consider joining in the good work of the KVIS today.
A Common Goal: Improvement
By establishing the common goal of Village improvement, a sense of purpose is begun which is accessible to all regardless of age, background, or socio-economic status. This common goal puts us all on the same page and unites us in that goal. Each person’s definition of what improvement is may differ. But there are issues most in our community will agree upon from the start: good schools, well maintained properties and corresponding property values, interesting and profitable businesses, superior services, safety for ourselves and our property. These desires are the building blocks of a successful society, our raison d’être or reason for being an incorporated Village in the first place and they are how we ultimately define our common improvement goal together.
Our Work
The KVIS meets together on the second Monday of each month. Our work is primarily planned and accomplished through smaller focus groups or committees. Each Committee meets once each month. Each 2nd Monday Society meeting includes reports from the Committees, including any decisions needed to be made (by a simple Roberts Rules voting proceedure), and reports from Liaisons and Coordinators. Our Structure
All significant KVIS decisions are made by the membership at our 2nd Monday meetings. This is an important aspect of who we are as a group. View our organizational structure: KVIS Organizational Structure 09 A
